Is my betta a male or female and is this normal??pic?

Your betta looks much more like a male than a female in the pics (but the pictures are murky so its somewhat hard to tell). Bettas can be territorial (they stake out a place in the tank and defend it from any other fish). If it spends time along the side of the tank flaring its fins at its reflection it is very likely to be a male. In any case, it is pretty. good luck with your fish
