Does the Astro A40 Mix-amp work with the Astro A30 Headset?

If I have the mix-amp for the A40s could i just buy the A30 headset? Would the Headset only come with any cords? Because I want to be able to use it with my iPod. Will I have to buy anything extra to get the cord to plug it into the iPod? Or can I just use the plug that goes into the A40 headset to my iPod for the A30?
