Why did Gore and Kerry lie about WMD?

Actually it was the Bush Administration that said Saddam had them and it was later proven that they lied about it. Even CIA reports doent this. Getting rid of Saddam Hussein was a good thing but lying about the reasons for doing so? Not a good thing.
